Advisory board rejects German nuclear fuel and long term waste plan

Savannah River Site Citizens Advisory Board on July 25 26 voted against accepting a proposed shipment of German spent nuclear fuel and opposed long term storage at the Cold War site. Sarah Cohen of Conservation Voters of South Carolina spoke on the issue urging the stance. The board can issue official statements or recommendations to the Energy Department.
