Dennis Murphy, a 63 year old toupee wearer and hair replacement business owner, rode Freestyle Music Park’s Time Machine ride without losing his hairpiece. He challenged a park ad claiming hairpieces fly off on fast coasters and proved the claim false.
A 70 year old man Charles Austin Keeler of Mauldin died at the crash scene when his single seat ultralight aircraft crashed in a pasture after taking off from a homemade airstrip near Greenville. A witness reported the 2 p.m. Saturday crash and said the engine stalled after about five minutes aloft. It is unclear if the fatal outcome was due to the stall or a medical issue.
Two South Carolina boys aged 1 year were rescued from a rip current under a Garden City Beach pier as 18 year old Travis Harrison pulled them from the pilings. Both boys from Rock Hill were treated for cuts and bruises and released.
