Salley Man Killed In Early Morning Car Crash

Kelven Jackson aged 37 of Salley died when his 2000 Chevy Camaro wrecked on Windsor Road near Salley at about 12 30 a m traveling east or west at over 100 mph. Holder beats odds returns home from Shepherd Center

Jamie Holder, 17, returns to Wagener after seven months at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, a spinal cord and neuromuscular care hospital. Brother Michael notes the distance was hardest, but the family welcomes Jamie back after his Jan. 4 accident left him paralyzed.

Residents rally to oppose hotel and conference center plan

More than 50 residents from Hunter's Glen and nearby areas gathered at Southwinds Fellowship Church to discuss halting a proposed three story 100 room Country Inn and Suites with a 12,000 square foot conference center south of Aiken. They urged City of Aiken sewer service denial, arguing the project cannot proceed without city utilities.

Gary Andrew Legate Jr. 35, once jailed at Goodman Correctional, is to be freed next month after about 30 months for stealing from a veterans memorial park project in Aiken. Veterans group recovered about 80000 dollars and completed the park on Richland Avenue.
