Annual art show opens at Aiken museum with interactive format

The Aiken Artist Guild launches its interactive annual art show at the Aiken County Historical Museum this week. An opening reception on Thursday from 6 to 7 30 p.m. features wine and cheese and raffle tickets for artworks to benefit the museum. Raffle tickets cost 5 for one and 10 for three with ballots for Best Of Show. Proceeds support the collaboration and the guild’s new leadership and plans to hold meetings at the museum. The show runs with extended hours through the run.

USCA to Host Community Open House on Aug 14

USC Aiken will hold a community open house on Tuesday August 14 from 9 a.m. to noon and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Business and Education Building room 122. Officials from Gregg Staniteville Library Pacer Athletics Continuing Education Ruth Patrick Science Location Center Dupont Planetarium and other programs will present information and invite residents to participate.
