Accountant testifies on Bowers tax returns at trial
Craig Odom, hired to reconstruct Bowers records after a 1978 office break in, says Bowers properly prepared federal returns for 1974 and 1976. He notes some returns can be messier, and says the 1974 and 1976 filings were not willfully understated. Bowers, a former Federal highway administrator, says he spent long hours trying to reconstruct records for the non jury case.

Judge Solomon Blatt Jr. said he lacks jurisdiction beyond the three mile limit though he could take possession if items are moved inside that boundary. Annie Kirkpatrick, unable to swim, was saved by fishermen after currents pulled her from shore at Breach Inlet. Witnesses John Robinson and Warren Seymour helped pull her to safety.
