Clear the Shelter brings dozens of pets to homes in Aiken

The Aiken County Animal Shelter and Friends of the Animal Shelter hosted Clear the Shelter Day placing more than 60 cats and 45 dogs with families. Adoption fees were waived. organizers aim to empty cages and free space for more animals.

Planning board recommends new tiny home rules in Aiken County

The Aiken County Planning Commission approved four other items and advanced a plan to allow tiny homes as RVs in certain zones. The measure would require two acres per campsite and permits campgrounds where mobile homes are allowed, with a 4 3 vote on first reading.
