A London AP report cites the International Coffee Organization noting 52.4 percent of Americans drink coffee this winter, down from 74.7 percent in 1962. Average daily cups per drinker are 3.32, nearly identical to 1985 and well below 1962’s 4.36.
An 18 year old inmate shaved his head and used a body cream to squeeze through a small feeding slot at Plaquemines Parish Jail. He then took an air conditioner from the third floor, jumped to a second floor unit, and fled five miles away before being found hiding in underwear. He faces an escape charge and the jail installed welded bars to prevent future exits.
