New York Seagram & Sons boosted its bid in the Conoco sale by nearly 300 million to 4.1 billion as the oil firm rejects offers from Seagram and Mobil in favor of a merger with Du Pont. Du Pont has proposed a 7.3 billion deal including cash 95 a share for 40 percent and exchange of 1.7 Du Pont shares for remaining Conoco stock.
