Dozens of Animals Rescued from Aiken Home

More than a dozen animals were saved Saturday from a residence at 1126 South Boundary Avenue in Aiken. Public Safety officers evacuated four dogs and ten cats after arriving around 3 p.m. and found them in sweltering, food and water scarce conditions.

Shed toppled by high winds in Aiken incident

Thunderstorms brought rain and gusts to the Aiken area Saturday. A 20 by 20 foot metal shed on East Pine Log Road was blown onto the adjacent building Aiken Saddlery & Supply. No injuries reported. The Aiken Standard Weather Station logged 24 mph winds at 5 am and 0.45 inches of rain by 8 pm. National Weather Service meteorologist notes severe thunderstorm activity in the area.

Democrats Recommend Moving Up Presidential Primary
