Taste and See coffee shop closes for good

The Taste and See on Laurens Street between Lionel Smith Ltd. and Tea Garden Gifts shut in early July after 11 months of operation. Co owner Larry McCollum cited inconsistent business and long hours balancing SRS at Savannah River Site with the cafe as the reason for closure. He said regular teenage customers were disappointed and that he and his wife hoped to hire help, but never reached that point. He urged churches to collaborate on a community run, safe, Christian based space.
