The body of 70 year old Willie Toole of Shiloh Heights Road Aiken was found floating near Dreher Island. Authorities say the death appears to be a boating accident and the coroner will release autopsy results.
Aiken Public Safety investigates a burglary at the Houndslake pro shop with broken doors damaged cash register and missing cash drawers. Keys to the register and change found in the parking lot. An unrelated report describes a woman seeing a couple leave a young child in a car at a Southside restaurant. The abuse neglect case is listed as open.
A 42 year old woman alleges she was sexually assaulted by multiple men as she left the Ponderosa night club at Williamsburg Street and Richland Avenue. She refused EMS and hospital, but allowed the officer to take her home. The report notes she was not cooperative and the case remains open.
Local residents report receiving bogus checks up to 5000 dollars drawn on imaginary accounts. One check cites Women’s Business Guild. the scheme requests funds via prepaid cards and promises a bigger return. The operation claimed to be a grant fund linked to Malibu but IP shows Germany.
