Driver injured in Atomic Road wreck near Roundtree Road
A northbound car ran off Atomic Road, swerved into an embankment and struck a tree. Driver Brittany Sanders, 29, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center. Sanders was charged with driving too fast for conditions.

Aiken man amid string of public safety incidents
Aiken man Jairus Glover, 19, allegedly damaged a patrol car during transport to the detention center after arrest on Whiskey Road for warrants. He became belligerent, bending a door frame as officers moved him. Glover remained in custody Monday. A separate drowning in Lake Thurmond identified 52-year-old David Fliehler of North Augusta. The fifth Lake Thurmond drowning this year was reported by the McCormick County coroner. Also, 46-year-old John Bailey was arrested for indecent exposure after neighbors saw him walking naked with his dog on Barbara Lane Saturday evening. He was released from the detention center later.

Aiken County sheriff deputies arrested Hector Figueroa 24 on criminal sexual conduct with a minor or attempt involving a victim age 11 to 14. He remains jailed on a $10,000 bond after alleged ATV trail encounter July 14 where the victim says Figueroa assaulted her and asked about sex while she called for help. The victim and her mother reported the incident to authorities.
