Longtime Aiken First Steps board members to rotate off in September
Louisiana Wright and other veteran members will depart the Aiken County First Steps Board after six years of service including a year as chair. Budget cuts reduced the 2005 2006 funds to about 482000, limiting programs such as 1.5 teaching slots for four year olds and dental screening. Nash notes smaller counties stay funded to avoid regionalization while Wright cites collaborations and grants to sustain health and education services for pre school children.
