Jonathan Jay Brooks, 40, founder of Compass Academy in Aiken, was arrested and charged with one count of securities fraud. Bond set at $500,000. he remained in detention. Prosecutors accuse him of taking investors’ funds for a fictional Charles Howell Trust and using them personally.
