Stanton California. A factory worker previously acquitted of molesting two girls was arrested Friday in connection with the slaying of 5 year old Samantha Runnion. Alejandro Avila, 27, was not charged immediately.

North Augusta police announce the arrest of Stephanie Lillian Smith 22 of North Augusta and indicate Eric B Copeland 31 of Graniteville is held in New York City on a weapons charge in connection with the murder of former North Augusta mayor D Kimbrough Ledford whose body was found last week. Police say the investigation led by Capt Randy Mosley followed many leads over long hours culminating in the arrests after Ledford’s body was discovered. Smith was arrested Thursday around 10 40 p.m. on drug related charges.
