Aiken Man Detained After Burglary and Theft
Jerquain Demetri Schofield, 23, of Murray Avenue, was charged with second degree burglary after police found him near Travellers Lane and Shelby Drive with two bottles of alcohol. The homeowner reported he entered a garage and took items tucked under his arm, with a second home burglary alleged but not pursued after the homeowners recanted.

Carjacking Under Investigation by North Augusta Public Safety
North Augusta Public Safety investigates a Friday morning carjacking after a 2001 Chevy Tahoe was stolen at a Belvedere Clearwater Road trailer park. A fight occurred in a gas station area and at RAI Care Center on Atomic Road, with a male passenger firing shots and a female passenger taking the vehicle.
