Woman bitten by rattlesnake in Aiken County
An Aiken County woman, Karen Chiera, 42, Beech Island, was bitten on the calf by a snake while working in her backyard near Johnson Lake Estates. Husband Tony Chiera described the snake as a canebrake rattlesnake about five feet long and four inches in diameter. She was taken to Aiken Regional Medical Centers, with a reported rapid ride to the hospital.
