Marine Officer Jamie S. Coomes earned the WSI Certificate of Valor and Excellence on July 5 from Major Lewis of the Special Response Team for saving the life of Army Sgt. Edward Knight after a March 9 crash on the Aiken Augusta Highway. Knight was treated at the Medical College of Georgia following two weeks of surgeries and skin grafts.
