Robert Anthony Strang, 35, was charged with second and third degree criminal sexual conduct involving a 12 year old girl. Investigators say the assault occurred in a serial manner, with warrants stating he willfully committed a lewd act on a juvenile. Strang arrested Friday and held on a 35,000 dollar bond at the county detention center.
North Augusta City Council passed the first two readings of an ordinance to place a November ballot question on whether the city can issue a 10.23 million General Obligation Bond to fund a Public Safety Headquarters, the top CPST priority estimated to take 3–4 years to generate funds. The measure, amended to require a council resolution before bonds are issued, advances toward a third reading and potential bond decision.
