English classes for foreign speaking adults are offered at 760 N Laurens St Aiken. Classes run 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday for those over 18 not fluent in English. Free of charge. For information contact E Owen Clary at the adult education department of Aiken County School District.

Aiken Man Reports Assault By Several Subjects
An Aiken man was assaulted Friday night about 9 30 p m while riding his bike on Hampton Street. Samuel Washington 24 of 505 Monetta Street reported head and face injuries and was treated at Family Med Center. No robbery or bike theft occurred. Separate incident Eugene Harris Williams 517 Saluda Avenue was charged with shoplifting cigarettes from Red and White on Richland Avenue.
