Crime blotter reports multiple burglaries and thefts in Aiken area
Aiken County Sheriff's reports describe a string of incidents including an armed robbery on Jefferson Davis Highway in Beech Island, burglaries on Wagoner Road Arbor Court Silverton Street and Dougherty Road, a home entry during a burglary, a hit and run on Riverbird Drive, vandalism on Happyland Circle, two weed eaters stolen from a yard, debit card and car theft, vehicle break ins on Muffin Lane, and a window break on Brown Hill Road. Various homes across Beech Island Warrenville North Augusta Windsor and nearby areas were affected with multiple suspects or unknown perpetrators.

Backpack Giveaway at Aiken TCC and Wireless Zone
The Aiken TCC and Wireless Zone will give away 220 backpacks with school supplies from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday July 23 at 3601 Richland Ave. W. One backpack per child, first-come, first-served while supplies last. The Aiken Newcomers' Club meets Aug. 8 at Newberry Hall with no program and a $15 fee. Reservations by Aug. 3.
