Camp Invention brings hands on learning to USC Aiken campus
About 85 kids in grades 1 through 6 arrived at the USC Aiken Ruth Patrick Science Education Center for Camp Invention a five day program with five daily modules. Certified teachers guide integration of science math history with college students serving as camp counselors. Modules include Can Invent Sea Worthy Fair Games The Lost Treasure and Amazing Games. The program was created 16 years ago by the National Inventors Hall of Fame Foundation in partnership with the USPTO and operates in 44 states at about 800 sites.

Fran Bush of Book Lovers Bookstore plans the first Aiken Children’s Book Festival for October 13 and 14 at Country Square Shopping Center. Children Learn Self Defense At Aiken Library Workshop
