NationsBank based in Charlotte reported second quarter net income of 467 million dollars, up seven percent from 1994. Earnings per common share rose eight percent to 1.71, return on average common equity 16.7 percent, with total assets of 318.4 billion as of June 30 1995. Kimberly-Clark agreed to acquire Scott Paper for 6.8 billion in stock creating an 11 billion personal and household products company. Scott shareholders would own 42 percent of the combined firm while Kimberly-Clark stockholders hold 58 percent.
