Cavanaugh Reappointed to D C Municipal Association Board

Two arrested in connection with meth lab

A Pelion couple sought in connection with a methamphetamine lab found in an Aiken County hotel July 7 have been arrested. Amber Poston, 19, and Paul Cureton Jr., 37, are charged with attempt to manufacture methamphetamine unlawful conduct toward a child and marijuana possession.

Orientation Begins For New USC Aiken Freshmen At Campus

Amber Kuhn a Beaufort High senior said she felt on top but now starts over as a freshman at USC Aiken for a three day orientation. Hundreds of first year students arrived welcomed by upperclassmen Pacesetters led by Toya Bell at Etherredge Center. Chancellor Hallman urged students to test varied interests while pursuing general education requirements and finding a campus fit.

Graveside lights stolen at Langley Cemetery

Aiken County Sheriff's Department monitors Langley Cemetery after five solar graveside lights are reported stolen Friday evening from a family plot. Pete and Karen Moutzouris of Jackson say lights from surrounding graves were also taken. Karen notes a sister last checked the site at 5 p.m. Friday.

Police Blotter Reports Theft and Vandalism Across Town

A series of incidents include $800 plus damage at a Vaucluse Road furniture store, $200 stolen from an Edgefield fast food restaurant safe, $250 vehicle damage on Main Street, and over $100 damage to a 1998 truck on Summerwood Way. A dog shot on Old Bell Road and a purse theft from a Dodge Neon at Salvation Army on Richland Avenue are noted, with a bicycle found on Colleton Avenue.

ALPES Device Tops 2003 Tech Awards for Homeland Security Aid
