MOX funding remains in NDAA despite White House opposition
The House Armed Services Committee keeps 340 million dollars for the Mixed Oxide facility at the Savannah River Site, allowing construction to continue for another year. U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson supports the funding while the White House favors downblending and disposal, citing lower cost and risk. Critics note MOX is over budget and behind schedule.
