Carolina dogs highlighted as a distinct breed in Aiken talk
University of Georgia ecologist Dr. Lehr Brisbin showcased Carolina dogs at a Birds & Butterflies event in downtown Aiken, detailing their origins with Paleo-Indians, diverse colors, egged by a Carolina dog named Stone. He notes their pixel like dig pits in fall months and similarities to dingoes. The talk, part of the 2016 Nature Series, drew crowds and media presence from Dede Biles of the Aiken Standard.
