Rescuer hail miracle as teen hikes to safety after crash
A 16 year old girl survived a small plane crash that killed her step grandparents in the rugged mountains of north central Washington. She hiked through thick forest to a highway trailhead where a motorist found her and she was treated for dehydration and muscle breakdown. The sheriff said the pilot was flying too low and tried to pull up too late. Autum Veatch reported the details to authorities. The wreckage remained unfound as searchers continued.
