Aiken Technical College to Break Ground on New Manufacturing Center
Aiken Technical College will hold a ceremonial groundbreaking for a new manufacturing facility Thursday at 10 a.m. The Center for Energy and Advanced Manufacturing, designed by Greenville firm McMillan Pardan Smith Architecture, will house mechatronics welding radiation protection technology and nuclear quality programs. ATC officials and leaders from community and industry will speak alongside H Philip Paradice Jr of the Atlanta Regional EDA office. The EDA provided ATC with a multi million dollar matching grant for the project.

Father and son arrested after evading police in Graniteville
A Graniteville father Ernest Lamar Simpkins 44 and son Jalen 21 were arrested after evading police last week. Ernest faced multiple charges including violation of an order of protection and reckless driving while Jalen faced obstruction of justice and resisting arrest.
