Suicide bomber kills 23 at Afghan Uzbek wedding in Aybak
A suicide bomber struck a wedding hall in Aybak, Samangan province, killing 23 guests including Ahmad Khan Samangani a former Uzbek warlord turned lawmaker and father of the bride. About 60 others were wounded as security forces evacuated the area and helicopters ferried the injured. The attack follows a series of deadly strikes around Afghanistan ahead of 2014 troop withdrawal with no immediate claim of responsibility.
