Fourth of July Celebrations Across the Community
Foxchase neighbors held a Fourth of July parade and festival organized by Jim Stone and George Wicks with Bill Deans coordinating the parade. Prizes were awarded, with judges Pete Gray Pete Bisshop and Spencer Grother. Entertainment planned by Jim Moore and others and refreshments arranged by Larry Austin. A separate Independence Day barbecue at Leo and Eleanor Pearson’s home drew many relatives from Columbia Statesville Bath and Charleston with extended family. The La Leche League picnic followed at the Bath home of Jimmy and Ginny Thomas with their daughters Merry King and Erin assisting.

The South Carolina Crafts Guild hosts its first juried show at the Greenville County Museum of Art through Aug. 9 featuring clay fiber glass metal and wood works from 57 state craftsmen. David Stuart of Aiken is a featured exhibitor for a traveling show with 19 pieces visiting eight communities over the coming year.
