Samuel McNamee received first alternate in Beethoven concerto and honorable mention in solo at the South Carolina Music Teachers Association Pre College Auditions Division II held in Columbia. He is home schooled, rising seventh grader, son of Ed and Debbie McNamee, studying piano with Mary Losey.
A 12 year old girl was ejected when an eastbound vehicle on I 20 near mile marker 17 lost control during rush hour. The child, with a broken leg, was taken to the Medical College of Georgia but survived without life threatening injuries. The driver and front seat teen passenger suffered non life threatening injuries and were restrained. The driver will face charges for traveling too fast for conditions and having an unrestrained juvenile in the vehicle.

Nasadeam Stewart 19 of New Ellenton was located in Austin Texas and taken into custody on an extradition warrant to face charges in Aiken County including attempted murder. The case stems from a June 27 shooting in Aiken that wounded a man. A juvenile and another suspect, Kennard Thomas 19, face related charges while Keith Williams 20 remains at large. Police credited a task force with U S Marshals and Lone Star Fugitive Team for the capture.
