Dogs in Oven Case Set for Trial in Aiken County
A 17 year old man Nolan Kerry Grant of Evans Road faces two counts of cruelty to animals second degree burglary and grand larceny for a break in at Lyon Drive Nov 9 in which two dogs Sophie and Dexter were placed in a hot oven. One dog died while the other survived after hours in hiding. Victims Chad and Chrissa Matthews reported the incident and said both dogs were not vicious. Grant was arrested Nov 12 2008 and is to be prosecuted by Assistant Solicitor Beth Ann Youne.

Three vehicle crash in downtown Aiken injures driver
