Graniteville man dies after Saturday traffic wreck

A Graniteville resident, 73 year old Raymond McKeon of Bristol Drive, died at a local hospital from injuries after a Saturday crash on Augusta Road. He was a front seat passenger in a vehicle that pulled from a driveway into U.S. 421 and was struck by a northbound Ford pickup. McKeon was transported to the Medical College of Georgia shock trauma unit and died at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday from respiratory failure. Speed was not a factor. no charges expected. This marks the 16th traffic fatality in Aiken County for 2005.
