NASA aims for a Sunday night shuttle Endeavour liftoff but storms forced a postponement. Mission team races to reattempt entry into orbit as crews adjust schedules for a new launch day.
The Ma Gna Endeavour carries and installs the last segment of Japan's Kibo laboratory during a 16 day mission. The crew of seven will conduct five spacewalks and perform maintenance on the station. Four crewmembers are first time flyers and 13 will live aboard the outpost simultaneously. The mission also installs an external experiment platform and completes the three part Kibo assembly.

Williston Church of God youth group gathers weekly in rain or shine after their building, damaged by June floods and roof collapse, left with only bricks and a foundation. Funds have since been raised through monthly drives with help from a Florida mission group, as efforts continue toward rebuilding on elevated ground.
The Little Boy who died in October 1855 near Aiken Station is buried in Graniteville Cemetery. His identity remains unknown, and the community preserves his memory through the Horse Creek Historical Society and local residents. Local figures funded a coffin, grave marker, and a cedar marker before a permanent stone was placed.
After a slow start to the hurricane season, volunteers are urged to prepare for evacuations across the state. The Aiken County Red Cross seeks more helpers to open shelters at Bamberg, South Aiken High, and North Augusta High, coordinate food, and support shelter operations as Gov. Sanford may call voluntary or mandatory evacuations.
