Merchandise Mart to Spearhead Chicago Trade Hub
Foremost manufacturers wholesalers and importers will be housed under one roof at the new Merchandise Mart in Chicago. The massive building will cover 224 by 577 by 224 feet with about 4,000,000 square feet, featuring freight stations private tracks river dock and a Merchants Club in its tower. It aims to centralize wholesale and showroom activity drawing firms from across the country and connect via the city’s rail and river transport network.
