Aiken Woman Arrested for Selling Alcohol to Minor

Tammy Rose Kazinci twenty one from Van Bryan Drive was charged after admitting she sold alcohol to a sixteen year old at Richland Shell on Richland Avenue. Police reported the youth drank from a bottle in the store after selecting it from a cooler. Kazinci was booked at the Aiken County Detention Center and released on personal recognizance.

Reading program nurtures kids at Aiken Public Library

Rachel Pirkle and staff at Aiken Public Library promote a summer reading program to keep children reading through July. About 500 kids are signed up with family events Tuesday nights and preschool story time on Wednesdays. Tow truck rule vote puts Aiken tow firms at risk

Aiken Planning Commission rejected a proposed amendment to allow emergency tow trucks to park in residential areas. United Defense Wins 12.2 Million York Plant Contract

United Defense will receive 12.2 million to build seven Hercules missile recovery vehicles at its York Pennsylvania facility. Five vehicles are for the Marine Corps with no others for the Army. The firm is under a 118.1 million total contract to manufacture 51 vehicles, all to be rebuilt by April 2003 from assets at Anniston Army Depot. The York plant willremanufacture assemble and test the vehicles in Fayette County Pennsylvania.
