Twinkies shelf life extended to 45 days at stores
Hostess Brands says Twinkies will have a 45 day shelf life when they rejoin shelves on July 15, longer than the 26 day period claimed by the former owner. Spokeswoman Hannah Arnold notes the change originates with the old company, which went bankrupt, and details are proprietary. The New York Post reported plans to freeze some cakes to allow retailers to apply expiration dates.
