SRS contract closings blamed for large unspent funds
An Inspector General memorandum cites delays by WSRC and SRNS in closing 133 subcontracts at Savannah River Site totaling 413 million dollars. One $132 million contract from 1991 remained open as of 2009 with 200,723 unexpended dollars. No misuse alleged, funds simply tied up, delaying Recovery Act work and potential deobligation of unspent funds.
