Mattie Chafee Lived Life At Her Own Pace
Mattie Chafee, a fiery 14-year-old in 1899 society, is remembered for her bold spirit and independence. She married Dudley Hall and split years between Medford and Aiken, later running a real estate office with her sister and building Kalmia Hill. Mattie died August 14, 1961.
