Aiken man charged in 2017 Christmas domestic incident
Eliy McGowan, 38, of Cooley Street, faces first degree domestic violence two counts of reckless neglect of child giving false information to police and resisting without identification. Deputies say the 2017 incident involved choking and assault of a 26 year old woman in front of two children at a Cooley Street home. McGowan was arrested after a traffic stop and jailed in the Aiken County detention center.
