Tipping norms across services spark reader input
The Aiken Standard surveyed locals on tipping across taxi drivers barbers movers baristas and delivery personnel. Suggested ranges include 15 to 20 percent for taxis 1 to 5 dollars for small services and 15 to 20 percent for room service while movers and cleaners often receive optional or weekly tips. Peggy Greer and Lindsey Wise note varying expectations and that tips are not lifelines for many workers.
