Local woman's book promotes male nurses and STEM dreams
USC Aiken nursing professor Dr. Maggie Dorsey writes My Hero My Dad the Nurse to counter the stereotype that nursing is for women. The story follows Michael David Daniels as he aspires to be a nurse after his father, a longtime Army nurse, inspires him during Career Day. The book emphasizes recruitment and retention of Black males in nursing and features illustrations by Lorenzo Williams.
