The ABBE Regional Library System starts a three week silent auction at the Aiken County Public Library for two 30-drawer card catalogs with bases. Opening bids are 25 dollars. catalogs, moved to the front lobby, will display until July 27 and bids are accepted at the first floor circulation desk.
A Bevington Drive resident reports a 2008 Yamaha Vine stolen from her driveway valued at 3000 dollars. A Warrenville resident says a 1500 dollar lawn mower was stolen from Schley Street. A Jackson man reports a break in to a 1997 Ford F 150 in the Lowe’s parking lot on Whiskey Road with about 1650 dollars in tools stolen.
The tournament will take place July 19 at Houndslake Country Club with 8 a.m. registration and a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Entry costs are $75 per player and $300 per team. For details contact Mary Hass at 292 6588 or email tom ferritergolfclassic yahoo com.
The Twilight Belles, the evening group of the Aiken EGA, will gather at Cumberland Village on Monday July 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the first floor craft room. All are welcome.
David A. Belkoski is named executive vice president at University Health Care System while continuing as chief financial officer. He will supervise Information Systems and Heart & Vascular Institute and oversee the Brandon Wilde retirement community. He joined University in 1999 as VP of finance and became CFO in 2007.
