Westinghouse Seeks Higher Base Fees for DOE Contracts
DOE proposals to raise the guaranteed base contractor fee claim to boost performance fees up to twice that amount. Miss Jameson calls it a tool to increase excellence among weapons plant contractors, while Kit Newton of Westinghouse counters that the raise lags inflation. Westinghouse favors the Federal Acquisition Regulations award fee method used by other agencies. The firm recently earned a strong base fee and substantial award fees as SRS contractor, with several subsidiaries at other DOE facilities nationwide.
