Aiken Post 26 Rally Tops Irmo Chapin 5-1 Ahead of Congaree Clash

Aiken Post 26 beat Irmo Chapin 5-1 at Citizens Field lifting their win total as they prep for tonight’s key league matchup with Congaree. J.C. Abney earned the win in a three pitcher effort while Richard Abney, Joe Anderson, Russell Lee, John Harrison and Glenn Sattell contributed two hits each. Harrison drove in two runs as Aiken jumped from a 1-1 tie with two in the third and added singles in the fifth and sixth. Coach Tim Hulsebus labeled the Congaree game the season’s most important and warned a loss could drop them from the league race.

Trio Leads Aiken Post 26 Outfield This Season

Glenn Sattell Ted McManus and Joey Burt, once distant from Legion ball, now anchor Aiken Post 26 in left center and right field. Sattell adjusted from center to left field and aims to stay on the field, while McManus recalls early start and family influence. Burt, in his final Legion year, returns after a long layoff and joins the trio as Congaree tests them repeatedly this season.
