Police Raid At Stratford High Draws Criticism In South Carolina
South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster called the Goose Creek police drug raid at Stratford High School highly inappropriate though he did not pursue charges. Surveillance video showed officers with guns drawn forcing more than 100 students to the floor as a drug dog searched. no drugs or arrests were made. The incident drew national attention and civil rights protests amid accusations of targeting black students. Seventeen Stratford students sued in December, joined by the ACLU on behalf of 20 more students alleging violations of constitutional rights.
