Woman arrested for child abandonment in North Augusta
Debra Lynn Harrell, 46, of Weston Street, was arrested after confessing to abandoning her 9 year old daughter at a park on Edgefield Road. The child said she was dropped off to play while the mother was at work, and the child was later taken into DSP custody.

Barney Sherlock, 45, of Edgefield Road, North Augusta, is jailed in North Carolina on charges of breaking and entering larceny after break in and entering and possession of stolen goods. He also faces several misdemeanor counts for simple assault on a handicap person and related offenses. The incident occurred June 11 when posing as a utility worker entered an elderly 90 year old woman’s home and stole from a jewelry box after shoving her into an oxygen tank.
