Procession brings Thurmond home
Barry Bishop recalls Strom Thurmond as a devoted public servant during his funeral in Willowbrook Cemetery. The Edgefield procession included 70 cars stretching over a mile as South Carolinians waved flags and honored the late senator. The flag-draped casket arrived on a horse drawn caisson and was moved to the graveside.
