The Associated Press market basket survey shows June price declines at a single checklist store in most of 13 cities led by butter and eggs while coffee rose. The overall bill eased seven tenths of a percent from start to end of the month, with dairy and meat varied and oil price moves anticipated to pressure packaging and transport costs.

Aiken Grocery Costs Move Up 1.7 Percent

City County Diesel Fuel Allowance Cut Impact

Aiken city manager Roland H. Windham and County Council chairman Carrol H. Warner announced a 4 percent cut in diesel allocations for the City of Aiken and Aiken County to 55 percent of last July. The reduced supply affects fire trucks garbage trucks and landfill operations in the city and roads and bridges department and landfill in the county.
