Aiken woman faces three counts of unlawful neglect after leaving three children unattended in a car on Wednesday. Authorities say the incident occurred in Aiken and prompted charges against the suspect.

Former Aiken County councilman Russ Ferrara, 47, was arrested on a charge of committing a lewd act on a minor after a 13-year-old girl alleged he touched her while she painted at a Pacer Park Lane mobile home. The incident occurred June 26 and the girl later reported to police.
Aiken First Baptist Church youth from rising fourth to sixth grade, aided by volunteers, built a playhouse for a local family in a week long Habitat for Humanity tied camp. T shirts and tool belts were donated while Bible study accompanied the project. The playhouse will be displayed before delivery to the family, and participants express interest in future Habitat involvement.
